And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Luke 10:19
While talking with my mentor, Nan Thompson the other day she said something I have never heard her say before; “we have to remember all means all.”
We were discussing something I had been praying about and I told her I realized God had it all worked out, even down to a detail that I had not realized was part of the picture. That is when she imparted this truth to me.
I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind…. “all means all”. She mentioned the above verse from Romans 8:28. Now like many of you I knew this verse well. I had even read it the very morning of the day she and I talked. My focus always tends to go to the part of the verse about our good. Now there was this three letter little word that changed everything. Again, I knew that only God could take the bad and make it good but on this particular day more light was shed on this verse and the small, yet powerful word all.
I started thinking about other verses with special meaning to me that have the word all in them. Those are listed above as well.
All things, all needs, all power. Sounds pretty thorough doesn’t it? For the Believer we really do have all we need. No good thing does He withhold from us. (Psalm. 84:11) God has exhausted all measures to cleanse us, forgive us, redeem us, free us, protect us, heal us, purify us, release us, and love us.
Are you in a bad situation and see no way out? Is your child making bad decisions and you want things to turn around? Is your work situation difficult? Is your marriage not what you had hoped it would be? Jesus says that for those who love Him, all of these things will work for good.
Have you been assigned a task at work that seems impossible? Do you have a difficult child to parent and nothing seems to work? Have you been sick for a long time and just don’t feel like you can do it one more day? Jesus says that we can do all things through Christ. Jesus loved us and gave Himself for us (Ephesians. 5:2) so why in the world would He not give us His strength?
Do you live under a mountain of debt? Have you had a sick family member and there are not enough hours in the day to care for them? Does your child need special care or classes and you don’t know where the money will come from? Is your car on its last leg and there is no way to buy a new one? Jesus says He will supply all of our needs from His riches in Glory. There couldn’t be a more abundant supply.
Does the enemy harass you like a broken record? Do you feel shamed and condemned by your past mistakes? Has the enemy stolen from you, your loved ones or a close friend? Does the enemy whisper things in your ear that you know can’t be from your thoughts? Jesus says we have been given authority over all the power of the enemy. He said we are to trample serpents and scorpions (these represent demonic agents) under our feet. The moment you were saved you received the same power in you that raised Jesus Christ from the dead; resurrection power! (Romans 8:11) It is time to resurrect some things in your life. Jesus has made all things good. He has provided all we need and with Him all things are possible.
We have to remember, all means ALL. Jesus paid it ALL.
