Rise and Shine!

Rise and shine! The sun is coming up! The dawn of a new day is happening and in only a short while, the moment of dawning will be behind us and we will find ourselves in the middle of mid-morning. Time. It won’t stand still.

Time is movement in the direction of God’s divine decisions.

As I look at the sun rising, as I notice the grass growing, the water in the stream wanting to be a little stagnant, I see the sovereignty of the Maker of it all. He placed the morning dew on each blade of weed and grass. He sustains the creatures in the woods with their bounty of breakfast, and even the aphids and ladybugs with their nutrients to live. You see, God’s power isn’t only expressed in the thunderstorms, the unexpected answers to prayer or the deliverance from the demonic…. God’s power is at work in the roots of the trees, in the singing of the birds, and in the changing of barren branches to being covered with leaves!

Psalm 96:12
“Let the field be exultant, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy.”

To wake up and see and hear the activities of His nature is so reassuring of just how detailed He is in His attention, and the assurance of His care. If He cares so much about the lilies of the field and the birds of the air, how much more… how much more … how much more does He care about us?

Consider the ravens, for they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the crop]; they have no storehouse or barn, and yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than the birds! Luke 12:24

Father God, I want to be a woman with deep growing roots. A woman firmly secured to Your Word, and filled with the counseling power of Your Spirit. I confess today just how much I need You to feed me with all the riches of Your Presence that will bring nourishment to my soul, and lead me on the course of life You have chosen for me, and be my King! In Jesus’ name, amen.
