Turkey and Dressing With Plenty of … GRATITUDE!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

When I walked through the Wednesday night dinner line at church, the lady on the other side of the service bar asked, “Want gravy with your dressing?” Of course, I nodded before the word YES! came out of my salivating mouth!

But as I enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal with friends at church, I found myself looking around the room, seeing my church family, and realizing … this thanksgiving there is so much more to our gathering with family for turkey and dressing that we will smother with gravy, but we “get to” gather up with loved ones and smother it all with GRATITUDE.

I know this time of year can be so difficult, heavy and hard for those who have lost loved ones. It’s painful to gather or watch families gather together and your heart is grieving the loss of your family member or dear friend.

I understand.

But this Thanksgiving, find someone who can pray for you, pray with you, and make your gratitude be heard. There is so much that God has done in your life that this Thanksgiving can be just that – a “set aside special day” to voice all that you are grateful for among those dear close friends…with family…with loved ones.

Smother the day, not just with gravy, but with overflowing GRATITUDE!

Giving guests an opportunity to jot down what they are thankful for and then share those blessings all around the table, is a great way to begin the festivities! Brown paper can be picked up at the local Postal office in a roll, at Michael’s or Walmart.
