Time Keepers

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

“To everything there is a season,  A time for every purpose under heaven.”  Ecclesiastes 3:1

A time keeper “keeps or records time”.  Some keep time at ball games; baseball, basketball or football.  Other time keepers help speakers stay within their allotted time frames.  There are instruments known as metronomes; that keep time for those who play instruments.  There are places of employment that require their employees to clock in and clock out.  In other words the punch clock keeps their time.

Those who participate in a marching band; must know how to keep time with their instruments and their footsteps, or their performance will be a flop.  A choir or praise team must be able to keep time; so the church will be blessed as they lead in worship.

                                                                Keeping time is quite important.

The Star Wars movies imply the ability to time travel.  We know that is totally impossible; until our souls take flight to heaven, our eternal home.  (well, except for John, in the book of Revelation)

In reality, keeping time is critical for everyone involved.  You see even God keeps time.  He says we each have an appointed time to be born and an appointed time to die.  What we accomplish in between; is imperative to His kingdom purposes.

What kind of time keeper are you?  Are you listening to the voice of the One who is the Ultimate Time Keeper?  He is recording every nano second from your first breath until your last.  One day we will give an account of how we spent our time.  Were we in step with the Author and Finisher of our faith?   He does not want us to waste one more second.

We need to take seriously our ability to keep time.  It belongs to our Creator.  We need to be the best time keeper possible; for His honor and glory.

Prayer

Oh God, I want to be the best keeper of time possible; to bring You honor and glory.  Teach me Your ways Lord.  I want to accomplish all You have ordained for me.  In Jesus Name. Amen.
