How You Finish

“The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the LORD of hosts.                                                                     And in this place I will give peace, says the LORD of hosts.”  Haggai 2:9

For those of you who watched the super bowl on Sunday night; don’t you wonder what Bill Belichick said to his team at half time?  Whatever he said; it took.

The New England  Patriots gloriously dominated  Super Bowl 2017.  The first half; it seemed the Falcons dominated New England.  The second half; New England brought out a team with a different attitude, a determination to bring a win.

2017 was their fifth Super Bowl win.  No team has ever done this before.  The Falcons played so hard in the first half of the game; they wore themselves out. In the second half of the game; the Patriots made twenty two precision perfect plays.  It does not matter who you pulled for; that was amazing!  In the beginning; didn’t we all believe the Falcons were dominating the Patriots?

The first half counts; but it’s how you finish; that really matters!

This game was such a picture of an awesome coach, a star quarterback and a unified team.  It’s the only way a team can come from twenty five points behind.  Who is able to do that? Apparently; the Patriots!

What if Christians were that full of determination to finish their lives strongly for the glory of God?  If we will obey Him; we have the greatest Coach ever!  He has left us His coaching book and placed within it every detail needed to be victorious warriors.

God alone can “restore the years the locusts have eaten.”  He alone is worthy of our praise.  He teaches us and trains us in righteousness.  We know the end of our game because we’ve read the end of our Bibles. Do not be deceived by your opponent’s apparent domination in this world.  The Lord your God will gloriously bring you to a victorious end.

Prayer in Motion:

God, may I get my orders from You alone.  This world is my training ground.  You are preparing me for a place in heaven. That is Who You are and what You do for those on Your team. I trust You fully Lord.  In Jesus Name.  Amen
