His Great Love

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This morning I was up earlier than usual. I get to go to my Church on Tuesday mornings for a prayer time that we have every week. I love this time. I love my Church, I love the body of Christ, especially when we meet for prayer in His House.

So, I got up to get ready, prayed before I left the house and read a verse, but I don’t have time to get into my normal quiet time with the Lord on Tuesdays. I have it a little later in the morning. I knew that the Lord told me to read John 16 and 17 today when I got back home. He told me this in the car on the way to Church as well.  He had me read John 14 and 15 yesterday, so I knew He was wanting me to continue something today.

While driving, I was talking to the Lord.  I asked Him to show me His great love for me today, to just pour it out on me. This is something I struggle with from time to time and I wanted to KNOW His love for me today. I wanted to feel it down deep.

When I got home I did exactly what He told me to do. I made a cup of coffee and some breakfast, sat on my back porch and opened my Bible. I read John 16, took a break and came back. Then…..then, I read John 17. There before my eyes was the Lord Jesus’ High Priestly Prayer! What better way for the Father to show His great love for me than to have Jesus pray for me today! It’s too much….just overwhelming. BUT, I gladly received it!

John 16:24 says this, “Until now you asked nothing in My Name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”

My joy is full today! So glad I asked!

Nothing compares with what you just shared Rene….being in the Father’s presence, with the Father’s Words, filled with the Father’s Spirit, and having Him lavish His Fatherly love on us. I read a lot of blogs, and see the craftsmanship of words threaded together in attempts to communicate (hopefully) something that will inspire. BUT the inspired word of God came to common place men who simply picked up their writing utensil and wrote the words of God. The WORDS were inspired by God, not the men. But the WORDS themselves were filled with the inspiration of God. Thank you for sharing with us just how powerful the WORDS of God truly are in our life…they are etched in our minds, engraved in our hearts and they breathe life into our souls!
