Frying Up Some Bacon and Then Digging for Seashells

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Good morning friends….hope you are waking up to a beautiful new day?

Here at St. George Island, the sun is rising, the sky is shades of blue, dusty rose and touched with morning gold, and although there is only one way on and one way off this beautiful island, we are staying ON! There is so much to do here…enjoying some delicious and fresh seafood, we’ve been splashing around in the ocean while fish would nibble on my toes. We’ve walked the sandy white beaches, and see hardly no one (it’s so private and quiet). We are having the time of our life!!…and we are getting up and doing it all again today! Not a cloud in the sky and it’s been nothing but sunny and warm!

We got here on Tuesday, but our vacation officially began last Friday at noon when we got off work.  Friday – Sunday, we worked so hard in our home on the new renovations, laying tile and building walls. Then Sunday we worshipped together with our faith family, before heading for Tupelo on Monday.

Monday night Rip and I had such an amazing time with the women of Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo, MS! They pulled out all the stops, and God was glorified through the preparations, decorations, the worship, the fellowship and the message of truth that He had for us all!  We left so blessed and so encouraged by their hospitality, their generosity and the pure dee’ fun we had with them!! Hugged some necks of some true southern women who are now new friends! Y’all have no idea how Monday night was engraved in my heart!! Will always cherish our time there!

Rip and I at HBC

Come Tuesday morning, after a fun run to the “about the south” gift store in Tupelo, that my overly brilliant and creative cousin, Susie Morgan, owns…we bought a new serving tray and then headed for St. George Island!

We have had our feet in the sand or our whole selves in the ocean since we arrived! LOVING EVERY MINUTE of watching my Rip have fun! Splashing in the ocean, enjoying delicious seafood, and just being off his feet and together, we are soaking up every moment. Holding hands, kissing when we want to, laughing till my head hurts, walking on a romantic beach with a sunset that God put there just for us! We’ve enjoyed dinner at “Up the Creek” and watched boats as they came in the dock. I’m telling you, this vacation is such a gift from God….such a precious and perfectly timed gift.

But while he is asleep right now, I thought I’d come outside on our deck, overlook the ocean, sip on my coffee and just let you know the thoughts that keep going through my mind.  Since Rip and I left HBC Monday night, we have been deeply touched by all the responses from women who were there. God orchestrated the whole event…down to every single body that was sitting in every single chair. And y’all, based on what I’m reading from new friends who have contacted me …just to share their heart…just to let me know how God spoke to them during the message that He burned in my heart to share that night, well, I’m just wanting to reach out to whoever reads this post to ask you to do one thing….pray. And here’s how I’d like to ask you to pray:

  1. for the women of HBC who were there, that the work the Holy Spirit did in their lives will continue to grow in respect to their salvation (1 Peter 2:1-3).
  2. that the women will continue walking in obedience to how the Lord instructed them
  3. that the message “Made to Crave” will spread far and wide for God’s glory and for the building up of the church – the body of Christ.
  4. that the church, the bride of Christ, will CRAVE the Word of God – that believers will go, and make “followers of the Word”
  5. that believers will crave, like newborn babes, the pure milk of the Word of God — they will LOVE THEIR BIBLE!!!

So, before Rip gets up and we head into our new day, I wanted to give the PDF from Monday night’s message that I shared with the HBC women. Oh, and the answers are on this handout sandwiched between parenthesis, and in red. Click on the link below.

(((Made to Crave)))

BUT here’s the deal…as soon as we get home from our vacation, we are making available the CD and the DVD of Monday night’s message. First, there is some editing that needs to be done, then we will make both available. So, if you would like a copy of them, please post in comments that you would like a DVD/CD or both…and the PDF will make much more since to you IF you can hear my teaching on this very topic – “Made to Crave.” The handout we gave on Monday night was a listening guide that women filled in the blanks as I was teaching, so this PDF has the blanks filled in, but you really need to hear the message in full for the handout to make greater sense.

Susie created a beautiful graphic with one of the points we talked about…her creativity is phenomenal and I can’t wait to work with her more in creating II resources! But use this poster she made to share on Facebook, use as your computer screen back ground, share on Instagram, or to simply pass along to a friend….because nothing, absolutely nothing on this earth is more important than craving the Word of God, knowing the Father and living holy.

Crave the Word

I love you so much and I want you to know that every time I post a blog, I pray for you. I pray that whoever reads this, will hear His heart…will be uplifted and inspired by truth, grace and love.

Well, guess what….Rip is up!! He just came outside and gave me some shugar!! Gotta go…time for frying up some bacon and then digging for seashells with my Rip! Have a wonderful day!
