Freedom in Christ #7

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Today is my last post in our Freedom in Christ series. I am so sincere when I say I am praying for all of you. I so badly want you to experience freedom in Christ and live this life abundantly as He intended for you to. I want to begin today with some verses from another one of my favorite Psalms:

Bless the Lord, O My Soul

Of David.

103 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Meditate on these benefits of being His child. To meditate is much like a cow chewing on its cud, it keeps coming up over and over. When we meditate on His Word it gets in our mind and it will keep coming up! You must memorize to meditate.

So, let me ask you something; why aren’t we living free? We have the information, we have the instruction manual teaching us how to do it, yet we don’t live free. Jesus loves YOU. He died to forgive you and set you free. So…..

Why aren’t we letting this gift of freedom change us, our homes, our schools, our jobs, and our Churches? What would our Churches look like if we really carried each other’s burdens? What would happen if there was prayer all up and down the hallways and in the classrooms of our Churches? What would we do if our sister in Christ asked us how we are doing and we told the truth and then the two of you stopped and prayed right then and there?

Let’s take a step forward today. I want you to stop for a moment and pray. Talk to the Lord, tell Him what is on your heart and what you desperately need His help with…………………

Now, I have another song for you and while you listen to it I want you to get those sticky notes that we wrote on the other day.  I want you to stick it under your feet because remember that is where the enemy belongs. As you listen to this song I want you to get on your knees, the posture of surrender, and lay “IT” all down before the Lord. When the song is over, I want you to take the note from the bottom of your feet and tear it up into little pieces and immediately put it in the garbage where it belongs. Do not let the enemy harass you another day. “Stand firm then, and do not let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
