Read today’s Inspiration from Rhonda Love:
Holding hands around the bed of our beloved brother-in-law. We prayed, sang his favorite song, “Sweet Home Alabama” and celebrated his life during his eight days in hospice.
The 2 ½ years prior had been a long journey of hospital visits, treatments and illness brought on by the treatment. He had suffered and fought hard to live. Friends and family rallied around my sister and her kids, knowing the days ahead wouldn’t be easy as they transitioned into life without him. Only God could heal the hurt and sadness deep in the soul.
It’s been six years since Greg stepped out of this world into the arms of our magnificent Savior. I’ll never forget a moment near the end of this life he sat up in bed, eyes wide open, smiling he said, “Jesus?” “Jesus is here!” Woah! What an awakening for us…
Saying “bye” to his best friend, my husband asked a sobering question, “Who ministers to the minister?” You see my husband was also their family pastor and in sadness with courage he led us through the motions of the funeral. Thank God we can have confidence because of our faith that we will one day be reunited with other believers who’ve gone before us. Thank You Jesus for hope.
“Who ministers to the minister?” The unanswered question begged to be resolved. One thing led to another, a 501c3 was established, the one-hundred year old bed & breakfast purchased, and the doors are wide open for ministers needing an intermission or restoration in the journey. #Boom. God keeps blowing our minds! He brought a ministry dream to fruition.
Pouring encouragement into fellow believers has become our passion, it’s our calling to offer a place of safety when lines have been crossed and souls are fragile. Giving Words to a discouraged soul, hope in hopeless moments and laughter to lighten the heaviness. Not to mention the lifelong friendships that have been established in the process.
Dear Ministry friend, who ministers to you? Who refreshes you in the broken places, celebrates the victories and replenishes you as Onesiphorus refreshed Paul in 2 Timothy 1:16?
“Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.” (2 Corinthians 13:11 ESV)
