When, What, Why, Where and How

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made.  He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, “You shall not eat of the any tree in the garden?” Genesis 3:1

As Satan slithered into the garden on that fateful day; I’ll bet the thought of questioning God, had never crossed Eve’s sinless mind. She bought into the lies of the craftiest of all the animals. Once she had taken his bait; Satan’s deception was complete.

Have you ever doubted God’s Word to you?  Or for you?  Maybe life’s circumstances skewed your thinking.  You begin to believe the One who said He would never leave you nor forsake you; did just that.

Forsake that lie, the one from the father of lies.

That’s your enemy’s whole purpose; to steal, kill and destroy.  He will take you further than you wanted to go and keep you longer than you wanted to stay; in your thought life, your actions and reactions to all that’s going on around you.

Will you set up camp in the enemy’s territory or run straight for the cover of your Savior?

Satan slithers away; once he has made you doubt “the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”  The success of the serpent of old; depends upon his ability to sway you in your weakest moments.  We are full of whens, whats, whys, wheres and hows.

  •     Lord, when will you answer my prayer.
  •     God, what is the purpose You want to accomplish?
  •     Jesus, why did this have to happen?
  •     Father, where are you?
  •     Savior; how can this turn out for my good and Your glory?

We either choose to allow these mind boggling adverbs; to torture our souls to death or push us straight into the arms of our Lord and Savior.

Oh God; our lives are full of questions, for which we are without answers.  We are beseeching You for a deeper, fuller, richer, more complete trust; in the One who is working all these things out for our good and Your glory.

Prayer in Motion:

Father, you know I am full of questions for which You have all the answers.  I can find them in Your Word; albeit not the answers I may want, as I listen for Your voice in times of stillness.  I can find peace and contentment as I wait before You Lord.  In Jesus Name.  Amen
