Wednesday in the Word

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

HI Friends! So here we are — hump day! And as we have been moving forward into our week, I just felt it would be such a wonderful thing if we could meet here every Wednesday, every hump day, and just take 20-25 minutes to just be in the Word together.

There is so much I’ve been learning lately, applying it to my life and seeing God do things that ONLY God could have done!! I want us to REALLY bank our life in God’s Word … to really walk with Him IN it, to walk with Him through it, to see life through the filter of FAITH! This is burning in me like nothing else has in a long time…here ya’ go –

THIS FRIDAY I will have posted for you the 1st of the written portion of our study. In the written portion, as it is with most printed bible studies, there is some guided thought and application provided through more studying of Scripture and answering questions and writing down what’s in our minds at the moment. When we “write” in bible study, it just seems to help us really think through our own heart’s desires, our own heart’s decisions and definitives. We just see in our own handwriting, the thoughts of our emotions, feelings and responses to the Lord.

So, Friday evening, be looking for some “Weekend in the Word” homework.

Love you!!!

Loved this video. I can’t wait to dive in and see what God has to show us.

I have decided to go ahead and post the 1st session in a PDF format so we can actually work in-between Wednesdays on some scripture study, some scripture application, etc. I have to go run right now, but when I get back I’ll finish the PDF portion that will actually help us all keep going and going even deeper into how all this applies to our own individual “lives – worlds.” It will be posted on Friday evening for us to have our “Weekend in the Word” time, too! 🙂

Its so incredible – I watched War Room two weeks ago and I’ve been wanting to find more guidance about how to do the same thing in my life and here we are with awesome guidance from Lisa! Thank you Lisa and Thank You Lord for making this connection!

Here’s my prayer – that I will honor the Lord in how I compile and write and teach each of these lessons that have been scratch notes in my journaling. I trust the Holy Spirit to help me, and I trust to Holy Spirit to take the truths of God’s Word and help each one of us “get it.” Help each one of us to put into practice the exact promises and precepts HE wants us to believe Him for. I long for us to be women who have the FULL ASSURANCE OF FAITH in our motor skills, in how we walk, in how we hold our heads up, in how we pray, yes, but in how we get up from our knees of prayer and put feet and hands and a sincere heart into how we LIVE OUT His living Word. It’s my prayer that we live CERTAIN, absolutely certain of who we know God to be, what He does, His nature, and to have a faith that EXPECTS our very own life to give EVIDENCE to HIM! We must live for the glory of God, and not for ourselves. And the way we do that, is by living with unshakeable faith…with a certainty in our speech and in our ways that folks will literally flock to us BECAUSE of the LIFE of His Word reaching out the TRUTH of His promises!! People are seeking…they want hope…we all do. They want answers that aren’t changing from one day to the next. People have very real fears and needs and I’m telling you — it is the child of God that the Spirit of God will infuse with His power and wisdom and knowledge so that those who are searching, FIND!! They find the God of hope they need, the find the God of safety and the God of surety that they are really longing for. They find the peace of God, the joy of God, the assurance of God — and girl…when they come looking, I long to be found as one of His faithful vessels! I know you do too! We are going to learn grow and experience the MIGHTY holiness of God in this time of Bible study and I am just thrilled THRILLED that you are with us!!

Oh, I would rather err on the side of faith than on the side of doubt, what a beautiful thing to say and live by!

I think those moments of doubt are ok when we allow it to LAUNCH us into search mode! A trigger to strengthen our faith.

My heart is heavy about my oldest child. He is HIGH energy and very smart but immature. I feel like I SHOULD homeschool him for 1st-grade but my husband disagrees and I know he is right. And it makes my heart so sad because I feel like as a WAHM with 3 little kids, I am failing if I let someone else “raise” him for 7 hours a day. I think it is all based on fear and comparison but this issue has been weighing down on me all summer.

My only prayer has been, “please speak through my husband,” and my husband is steadfast in saying that I need to be JUST their Mommy, not their everything, and I need to be working (doing hair, which I LOVE) part time and enjoying some quiet hours to make the house a home while the littles are in their preschool (I have complete peace about their 3day preK, it’s just the sit-down, read-and-write most of the day 1st grade I’m concerned with, but it’s true, I would go crazy listening to the sibling rivalry on the other days).

This is a very long post, sorry, but in this situation, what prayers do I proclaim? Protection for my son’s heart and love for learning? Trusting the leadership of my husband?

    • Lisa Rippy on July 22, 2016 at 10:45 am

Yes, exactly those prayers…along with trusting God with him. Go to God’s Word and find those verses that speak on “learning, acquiring knowledge, understanding, etc.” His education is important to God, and He will use it in shaping your son. BUT you are so right..it’s when he comes home that the REAL shaping and shepherding of his heart happens. And what a joy that is!! Trusting your husband to lead is HUGE! The Lord will bless you so much for that one thing – and when you husband sees that you really do trust him, you really do count on his leadership in your life and in your family’s life, it will spur in him an even greater desire to lead WELL.

So I’m just now diving in. I wept as I watched this. This is for me. Right now. In my world. Can’t wait to see what my God is going to reveal to me. Reading Hebrews 11:23-29 NOW! Love you, sweet friend. Thank you, for your obedience and being transparent and willing to share what our Father has taught you.
