Restoration

“He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His Name‘s sake.” Psalm 23:3

As we put the finishing touches on our freshly painted bedroom; I stood back and admired our hard work.  It had been a dark navy for over ten years; so it had to be primed, before painting the new “greyish” color.  My husband wasn’t sure he would like grey, because it’s such a blah color.  We had to repair lots of cracks and crannies that had occurred through the years. Much to Ben’s surprise, it brightened our once dark bedroom and gave it a certain “restored” new feeling.

Of course doing one room, leads to the need for other rooms to be painted as well.  It’s the same way with our lives.  You gotta start somewhere.  Ask the Lord to search your heart and see if there be any wicked way in you. He will not overwhelm you by revealing the whole picture at one time.  God will reveal the sin, a little at a time; in order to give you time to repent of each sin. Then the healing and restoration part can begin.  He will give you a fresh start on a daily basis.

Soul restoration requires soul examination.  You must ask God to reveal the cracks and crannies in your soul, the places that are in dire need of repair.  We’ve neglected them for so long, we don’t even pay them any attention.  God’s Holy Spirit is very sensitive and He cannot restore our soul; until we’ve confessed our sins past and present.  Ask Him to create in you a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within you.  He’s such a good God.  He will begin the restoration process right away.  Your cracks will be filled with joy unspeakable and the crannies will radiate the Light of the World.  How exciting is that?  A fresh new start on a day by day basis!  That’s the God who restores our soul!

Prayer in Motion:

Lord Jesus, I ask that You would restore my soul and renew a steadfast spirit within me today and everyday going forward.  In Jesus Name.  Amen!
