Pride and Joy

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace…to give you a future and a hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11

“How sweet to hold a new born baby and feel the pride and joy he gives, but greater still, the calm assurance; this child can face uncertain days because He lives.”  Bill and Gloria Gather wrote this song, based upon the truth of Jesus’ resurrection.

On March 4,2015, my son and daughter in law gave to our family, a new baby boy.  I’ve beheld his beauty through a picture, however; I can hardly wait to hold him, kiss his face and smell his newness.  He is fearfully and wonderfully made. Even before the world began, God knew Ian’s name and every little detail of his life. His thoughts of this man-child, are as the grains of the sand.  All because Jesus lives, Ian David, can face his future with glorious peace and hope.

Dear reader, God’s thoughts of you, are as the grains of the sand.  He has provided peace that passes all understanding and will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus, on a daily basis.  You are fearfully and wonderfully made.  The Lord knew who your parents would be, the color of your eyes and hair, as well as the temperament you would display.  He knows every minute detail.  You are His pride and joy and He loves you with an everlasting love.  God created you for His own good pleasure.

Knowing that God created us with such purpose and passion; brings us to worship our Creator and Redeemer.  The Lover of your soul lives, to woo you to Himself.

Prayer in Motion:

Lord, I know I am Your pride and joy.  Jesus help me to seek Your face and know Your heart for all the plans You have for me. I know You live to grant me a future and a hope.  Thank You for loving me, more than I could ever ask or think or imagine.  In Jesus Name. Amen
