Prayer for Husbands

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

“For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.”                                                                                                                       Ephesians 5:23

This is a powerful devotion for wives, who wish to pray for their husbands.  Ladies, this is one of your most important duties as a wife, to pray for your husband.  No one else stands in as strong a position as you do; as his wife, in your prayers for him.

Pray diligently for your husband.  Plead for God’s mercy upon him.  Give thanks for all God is going to do for him.  Using the Word of God; pray for him, from the top of his head, to the soles of his feet.  Present every part of his body to God.

Pray over:

His Head:         1 Corinthians 11:3  (He is our head)

His Mind:          Romans 8:6 (He will be spiritually minded)

His Eyes:            1 Corinthians 16:13 (He will be on his watch, be brave and strong.)

His Ears:            Deuteronomy 4:36 (Pray he will hear the voice of God.)

His Nose:            2 Corinthians 2:15 (Pray he will be the fragrance of Christ.)

His Mouth:         Ephesians 4:29 (Pray no corrupt word will escape from his mouth.)

His Bones:          Isaiah 58:11 (Pray God will strengthen his  bones)

His Heart:           Deuteronomy 6:5 (Pray he will love the Lord with all his heart)

His Arms:            Isaiah 33:2 (that the Lord would be his arm)

His Hands:          1 Timothy 2:8 ( that he would lift up holy hands in prayer)

His Legs:               2 Corinthians 5:7 (walk by faith and not by sight.)

His Feet:               Psalm 40:2 (Pray God will set his feet upon a rock, the Rock that is Jesus)

Wives, our husbands are in a battle daily, the battle to stay pure, in a not so pure world.  It’s imperative that you remember to pray God’s Word over him continually.

Prayer in Motion:

Lord, I pray You will remind me to pray Your Word over my husband, on a daily basis!  I want this to become my one desire, to pray blessings upon this man, You ordained for my life.  In Jesus Name.  Amen

Thank you for this post. My life group will soon be doing a Bible study together on marriage and this is a great resource for the wives to use as we commit to daily pray for our husbands.
