Positively Predictable

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”  Hebrews 13:8

Hallmark Christmas movies are so predictable.  Don’t get me wrong.  I love watching them because they are upbeat and always have a happy ending.  It’s kind of fun to steal away for an hour or so; into the place of make-believe.  However, that’s not real life.  Life is not predictable.  We don’t know what the next second holds but we know who holds our next second.

No matter what is going on; God knows the beginning from the end.  He knows when a hair falls out of our head, for crying out loud.  He is in control and we can trust Him with every single detail.  When we lie down or rise up and even when we sleep, He is with us.  Our God is with us.

Isn’t it awesome that God tells us how our story ends?  We win in the end. We gain heaven.  His promises are absolutely, positively predictable.  He always keeps His Word. He promises if you have a personal relationship with Jesus, you will gain everlasting life with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  You will forever be with your Bridegroom, in His beautiful heaven. Forever!

I love that Jesus says what He means and means what He says. He is always clear in His teaching and preaching.  He doesn’t beat around the bush in His parables.  Every story has a reason for being told.  Our Savior’s stories always paint pictures to which we can relate.  HIs stories are not pie in the sky.  They lead you in all truth.  Our Savior is always positively truthful.  He tells every truth in love.  HIs stories are the greatest ever told.

I love every Christmas season.  As I grow older, it’s not so much about the “stuff” of Christmas, as it is  about being with my family and friends to celebrate our Jesus.  I treasure Him more with each passing day.  Although I have no idea what the next second holds because life on earth is all unpredictable;  my hope is in Jesus who is positively predictable.  He never changes.

Prayer in Motion:

Oh my Jesus, in a world that is forever changing, thank You that You remain the same, yesterday, today and forever. There is no one on earth or in heaven like You.  I’m more in love with you today than yesterday and I pray I’ll be more in love with You tomorrow than ever before!  I celebrate You and thank You for Your immutability!  In Jesus Name. Amen!
