Jesus said; “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
In a world where Satan seems to have the upper hand; God’s Word promises He is still in control. Will you choose to trust the Creator and Redeemer of this world, or will you allow our “defeated foe” to consume your every waking thought? For now; it would appear, our adversary has free reign on planet earth.
The following statement is taken from Bible Study Fellowship’s Revelation study. “Satan’s worst devastation and deception cannot defeat the purposes of God.” Although we live in a world full of sin, our enemy’s crafty deception can never prevail over the pure and holy purposes of our God. Not today! Not tomorrow! Not Ever!
Remember, Satan came to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came to give us abundant life! Even though the devil knows his defeat is inevitable; he will seek God’s power and authority till his final hour.
God promises, “The gospel is the power of God to deliver sinners from the clutches of sin and Satan. Since the creation of earth; millions have lost their lives to persecution. God still gets the final say, when He said; “Blessed are the persecuted; for they shall see the kingdom of God.” Satan may try to make your life as miserable as possible but he has no say about your eternal destination. Those who are persecuted for the sake of Christ; will have crowns to lay at the Savior’s feet.
The beast; mentioned in Revelation 17, is granted authority by God, for a limited time and a limited purpose. Satan is, has been and will always be under God’s authority. In BSF’s Revelation study; it is noted, “The people of God may suffer but the purposes of God never do.”
Has your name been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? Revelation 13:8 says, “All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast – all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world.” If your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life, you are secure in the power of Christ’s death and resurrection. Your enemy has no hold on children of the Most High God.
Do not be deceived; Satan is a powerful force but he is not Omnicient; nor can he be Omnipotent or Omnipresent. Those attributes are only assigned to the Lord our God.
1 John 5:4You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. Come on overcomer; overcome.
Prayer in Motion:
Lord Jesus, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.” You have given me the power to overcome. I am strong in You and in the strength of Your might. You are Lord of my life. Thank You for not leaving me hopeless. I am more than a conquerer in my Savior. I bless Your Holy Name Lord Jesus. It’s in Your Name I offer up this prayer. Amen
