Mary's Song

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.”  Luke 1:46-47

I wish we could hear the melody to this beautiful song; placed in the heart of Mary, after hearing the news, she was pregnant with God’s Son.

I believe this to be a prayer any of us could pray during Christmas and beyond. We should always be pregnant , carrying about in our bodies the love of Christ, that constrains us to go and tell the good news.  Let’s reflect on these words and I pray they will become our own.

“My soul magnifies the LORD. And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” Oh LORD, I do magnify You and my spirit rejoices in You my Savior.  I am so unworthy but You have accepted me as I am and loved me anyway.  You have regarded the lowly state of Your maidservant;  You did this for Mary and you regard my lowly state.  Lord all the generations called Mary blessed.  It was You Mighty God who did great things for Mary and You’ve done great things for me as well.  Holy, Holy, Holy is Your Name.

Oh Great God, I fear You.  It’s comforting to know; “Your mercy is on those who fear You, from generation to generation.” Jesus, I pray Your people that are called Christian; will fear and revere You more now than ever.  May the world know we serve a true and living God.  Jesus You have shown me strength with Your nail scared arm, over and over again.  I will never get over it!  Never!

I do not want to live in pride, as the proud are scattered in their heart.  Lord, 2016 is the year of presidential election for America. You are in control and You have put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted the lowly.  You took David from the shepherds field and made him one of the greatest kings to ever live.  So God we pray; You will exalt the one who is lowly in heart. Jesus. We beseech You by Your mercies, on behalf of our nation.  Please give us relief and deliverance for such a time as this….a godly president….

Lord in heaven and in my heart; You alone can fill the hungry with good things.  Make a way, where there doesn’t seem to be any way for the troubled and down trodden.  Bring them to Yourself.  May they hunger and thirst for the Bread of Life.  Do not allow greed to be ruler of their heart, but the One who will not let His own go begging for bread.

Jesus You have always “helped Your servant Israel, in remembrance of Your mercy.  As You spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever.”  God, in Your mercy, help me because of Your mercy and grace.  I trust You to always be my help.

Prayer in Motion:

Jesus, I have been grafted in, because of Your great love and mercy.  I worship You Lord, in Spirit and in Truth.  Oh, What a Savior!  What a mighty God, everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.  I Worship You.  You are Christ, Son of the Most High God!  Christmas is about You Lord!  In Jesus Name; I offer up this prayer and for His sake alone.  Amen!
