Make Him Known

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

“Now, when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.  And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.”  Luke 2:17-18

There is nothing more exciting than a baby being born.  This Baby was different.  His newness smelled unbelievably sweet.  Good news travels fast amongst the family and friends.  Nine months of waiting and now He is outside of His mother’s womb, filling His lungs with earth’s oxygen.  This Baby was fully God and fully man.  The world would never be the same.

The shepherds made widely known the birth of the Christ Child. In the day of no phone, no computers, not even a morse code; it’s hard for our minds to fathom, how this news could be made widely known, with no social media.

The hearers of this good news marveled at the things told to them by the shepherds. The fact that shepherds were not well respected, makes this even more amazing.

God’s Word tells us to go and share the good news. If lowly shepherds can “make widely known” the birth of the Son of God; we are without excuse.  We possess every possible means to make the news of our Savior widely known.  It’s easier than it’s ever been.

Ask the Lord to help you make your Jesus widely known.  Look for opportunities to make Jesus famous.  Tell your neighbor, your banker, the homeless man begging at the intersection. Pass out gospel tracts.  Don’t be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Live out your faith, like you are excited to know Christ and make Him known.

This Christmas, set a goal, to share with at least one person per week, the great news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  You will be sharing the gift of eternal life.  If each one of us would tell one person per week and that person would tell one; we could see Christ’s kingdom multiplied exponentially.

Prayer in Motion:

Oh Lord, may I live to make Your Name famous.  May I pray and expect You to show me daily who needs Jesus.  People need the Lord.  May i watch and wait for those witnessing opportunities.  I don’t want to miss one.  I know You will give me in that hour what I am to speak.  Thank You for giving me holy boldness to make You widely known.  In Jesus Name.  Amen
