Rip, Lisa, Farms, Trucks and … bible study!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Hi there!

It’s Saturday afternoon and I sure hope you are outside enjoying a great day with your family? Rip and I are going to be leaving soon to go do something we both love! And that is … jumping in his truck, driving up and down country roads and not having a CLUE where they will take us!  We are ready to see some rolling hills, cotton fields, rows and rows of soy bean plants, and plenty of farm land, …and may even get out and talk to a farmer or two. It’s just something Rip and I both “need” to do, you know? Sometimes you just need to breathe fresh country air, feel the wind in your hair, (well, not Rip…), and just be together.

We have been getting up at 2:10am so he can get to the store by 3:00am. (I wish you could see the store! Looks like something Joanna Gaines had her hand all up in! So vintage – so farmhousey – so industrial – and folks in the community are already flocking to it! Plenty of small kinks to work out, but it’s all coming together so well. But when he gets home 6:00-7:00 (roughly 16 hour days), he is so hungry and tired. So, he scarfs down supper (usually has not eaten all day or just a quick sandwich), and then he’s ready to just “be” for a while. We usually take the dogs out front to sit on our driveway while they play in the yard. But around 7:30ish, we are back inside and in bed by 8:00 – CRASHING!

So, today…as soon as he gets in from work, (hoping around 3:30), we’ll be heading out for some much needed fun and relaxation, and we are ending the day right here – it’s the Ross Barnett Reservoir. The perfect place for a picnic under the oaks and pines!

Sunday after church, I’ll post our bible study. I’m waiting until Sunday because I need to hear Sunday’s sermon first. I just have a sense (because of the series we are in) that this Sunday’s message is going to speak directly to our “living certain.” So, enjoy your day and let’s meet back right here tomorrow.

Much blessings and love,

lisa

Wow, Lisa, I know EXACTLY how you feel about your daily schedule! Some folks don’t understand why I get up with my husband at 3:00 a.m. and fix him a hot breakfast. More times than I care to think about, that breakfast is all he has eaten until he comes home about 15 hours later. I don’t know how he does it…except the Lord is his strength. Yep, when you get up that early…you have to go to bed that early! As Psalm 127:2 says, “It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.” Thank the Lord for blackout curtains! Many blessings to you!
