Have you ever wanted to add little touches to your kitchen that would make it look more custom but weren’t sure what to do or where to start? Or maybe your home is a custom built, but you’re ready to bring in a few new touches and finishes to freshen the look a bit.
We’ve all been there – wanting to change things up a bit so this post is going to offer us a few ways to add touches here and there that won’t break the bank, and can really do what Rip calls “froo-frooing” up the place.
Nothing is (in my opinion) prettier and just so inviting than adding touches of wood anywhere that would highlight or trim a space.
This back splash alone is soft and subtle enough to have a nice bold light wood trim down the sides and across the vent-a-hood. Leaving it in a light natural wood stain is perfect since the countertop is a dark granite.
If you have cabinets above your range, maybe you can consider removing them (if you can go without the storage) and have a vent-a-hood installed. Custom vent-a-hoods can add a beautiful touch of wood …
Another little touch of ‘extra’ is the backsplash … a trending look is to put a decorative backsplash behind the range and that’s all. Oh, and mixing woods and metals just always works in creating a warm and inviting kitchen. Rule of Thumb: Texture = warmth 🙂
And decor’ alone can COMPLETELY give your kitchen an entirely new look! Thrift stores, Etsy, your own home, attic, antique shops…all of these places can give you new pieces to play with in creating that fresh look.
