Galatians 5:1 tells us that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free, therefore we are to stand and not be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
A year ago this very week I was getting ready to share this verse and give my testimony of Freedom in Christ. So I ask myself and I ask you, “are you standing?” I didn’t ask you if you have fallen this past year. We all stumble and fumble and drop the ball, there is no way around it. But that is not what I asked you just now. I asked you if you were standing right now, this morning as you get up. Are you standing?
Are you standing a little taller than you were this time last year? All that stuff that you used to carry, have you given it to God so that you are not hunched over in shame, condemnation, and fear? Friend, give your burdens to Him because He has promised to carry them. (Matthew 11:29) God is not a man and He cannot lie (Numbers 23:19) so when He promises to carry you He will do it.
Are you walking in the victory that is yours in Christ Jesus? As you walk are you throwing off the things that used to hinder you? (Hebrews 12:1) Are you fixing your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith?( Hebrews 12:2) He is your creator, He knows you and has written out a beautiful script for your life. Let Him take you from glory to glory as you walk with your eyes fixed on Him (2 Corinthians 3:18) and not your past.
Are you free? Have you let the totality of His Cross sink in? Have you thought about how He loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3) and has redeemed you? Have you realized that you are no longer bound by chains? Have you realized it is for FREEDOM that Christ has set you free?
If you know Him, if He is your Savior, if He is your Lord , then my sister you are FREE! So start today standing up straight, walking tall and claiming the Victory that is yours. Go find someone who doesn’t know about this freedom and tell them that HE is the way to freedom! All they have to do is believe and receive.
