There are small changes that can be made to a Kitchen Island that can take it from drab to fab!
Here is how our kitchen looked when we first moved into our home. We had only been in the house for a week or two, and with a little decor, I made it work. The day I stood in that spot taking that photo, I saw what it could be!
Then, after ripping off the paper and trying to bring a little life to the place, we had this:
And although we still need to finish painting our island, seal and polish the floor (to make is shine!), and finish some last minute painting …we are here:

Our Foyer was this — like, just the other day…notice the wall color, too! (wink wink) We went from yellows to Amazing Grey (Sherwin Williams).
Now here we are… First, I painted the walls, then I didn’t like the raw golden lumber any more, so I white-washed it! Much better!
Have FUN y’all! Don’t be afraid to do a little painting and rearranging…it can really freshen up a room.
The Butterfly photo came from Ross – $12.99, the pumpkins from Hobby Lobby last year (75% off), the old books came from Goodwill (great place for unique & fun touches), the faux plant (garage sale) and the candle was a gift! Oh and I found the iron stand while making a drive to Canton, MS, one year with Sissy Morris…it was time to go find a bargain on fabrics, and we stumbled upon a great junk store along the way. This iron stand was literally covered in rust and just needed some TLC! I’ve had it for years and love how I can change out the top.
Until Video #3, why not make some changes in YOUR Home…post them in COMMENTS and lets’ see what you’re doing. Or share them on our Facebook Group page – (may inspire others to become MEMBERS and join in the FUN!!)
