For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. Acts 20:27,31-32
Scripture must always be interpreted in light of It’s context. I challenge you to read and re-read the above passage. Verse 31-32 reinforces verse 28. Scripture exegetes Scripture. God never contradicts Himself in any of His sixty six books. NEVER.
Context rules.
We cannot; we must not, take one line out of a passage, without reading the whole context. The Word of God is more powerful than any two edged sword; however, if you take it out of context; it’s interpretation can be totally destroyed; annihilated. In other words it will be mis-interpreted.
Scripture is God breathed, straight from God’s mouth to the writers’ ears, every dot and tiddle.
Paul said in Acts 20:27; “For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.”
Paul’s statement is strongly supported by the following verses. He proved that he did not shun to declare the whole counsel of God by reminding these dear people:
31 “Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.
32 “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
Before you declare God’s Word to another soul; make certain you don’t glibly give out wrong doctrine. I know there are many who disagree but basic doctrine is indisputable. Doctrine is important. In fact; it is critical to study God’s Word in context. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and train you in His righteousness.
Prayer in Motion:
Jesus, may I always read Your Word in their context. I never want to give out wrong doctrine, only what is good and right. I love You Lord Jesus and I want to be strong in basic Christian doctrine. May i always read Your Word in it’s context. In Jesus Name. Amen
