Happy Thanksgiving from the Rippy's

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

It’s Tuesday morning, I’m sitting here looking at our Christmas tree, sipping on some hot coffee and thinking about how in just 2 more days our home is going to be filled to overflowing with family and friends … and I can’t wait! The house is all decorated and deep Norwex cleaned! The decorations are out, the menu was planned and primarily prepared by my sister-in-law and mother-in-law, and what I “get to do” between today and Thursday is…

put new flooring in bathroom #2, and shampoo the carpet in this house!

I know … I know … I hear you say, “Whhaaaaat?”

Sunday morning we woke up to soaking wet carpet in the bathroom. Yes, it had carpet because this is a 38 year old house and when we bought this home, it was exactly 38 years old INSIDE. Nothing had changed for 38 years. Now, it was immaculate, but just highly over the top dated. But we lived with it because we had our renovation hats on for the main living spaces.

Well, it was not salvageable (and we’re kinda glad) because now we are putting in new flooring, but we need (ok, want) to have it completed by Thursday. And during all the process, the work boots have worn dirty tread marks all over the carpet. So, Wednesday I’ll be running a Krogerland Rug Doctor through this house.

So, I’m not going to be on my computer much today or Wednesday because of all this, and because I have some work today in getting more Serve You Trays and Beauty Boxes ready for customers. But I also wanted to let you know that we are now chalk painting the Beauty Boxes with the Annie Sloan Pure White, French Linen and Cocoa.  And the Serve You Tray’s are now light wood distressed and/or some are also Annie Sloan distressed and with gold leafing on the  handles. (I will post pics soon!) We love how they are turning out!! Looks so much like the box in the photo above!

And…the NEW “Come to Me Cups” have ARRIVED!! We are getting them all out of the boxes and will posting them this weekend!! I can’t WAIT to show you these darlin’ mugs with Scripture on them!! 7 Acres Mart is expanding with such fun happies for your home, and more exciting news on all that coming soon too!

Ok, ladies…before I go, I wanted to give y’all a couple of videos and blog posts I found on the web that may inspire you, too, in your thanksgiving day with your family!

Just painted my beauty box yesterday! Not quite finished. I’m using Annie Sloan country gray. I’m also putting handles on it. I love my tray too. It’s on my island with a pin apple and small pumpkins for thanksgiving! I will send a photo when I get the box finished. Have a great thanksgiving! Wish my tree was up????

GIRL, we’ve been slapping Annie Sloan paints all over these boxes and just LOVE them! And the country gray is going to look so good! Rip JUST said two nights ago, “Baby, we should add handles on these boxes!!!” Cathy, I can’t wait to see…post here but on the Facebook Group page, too! Samantha and I were i Hobby Lobby last night buying 18 handles!! haha! Now, we are also making other painted and stained finishes on the Trays…so if you get creative, share anything you do to your tray, too! Thank you so much for purchasing both from our little 7 Acres Mart and as you make them “your own”, please share photos! Have a happy Thanksgiving, Cathy, and I sure wish I lived closer and I’d come help you get your tree up!! Love you!
