Greater Intimacy with God – Lesson 4 (Part 4)

Hi friends!

It’s December 27th and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday with family and friends! I sure did! Saw THE most beautiful soul on God’s green earth, my precious friend, Nancy Hopper!

Went to her house and had the most amazing coffee with peppermint white chocolate bark (we are renaming it to, “This Will Make Your Jeans Tight Delight!”), and then we talked for hours, ending our time together in prayer! LOVED it! Then that night, had a house full of Rippy’s and Rummage’s eating some pasta, salad, opening gifts and enjoying the whole night of music, movies and just having fun! About 16-17 folks all up in my brother-in-laws house. Then, Christmas day was spent with my son, Trace, …loved hearing all about what’s around the corner for that 3.6 grade point average fella, who is headed to UTC for physical therapy school! …  and then went to my friend’s home, Randi-girl (that’s her nickname), and we had way too much fun getting so caught up…and y’all, I have to tell you – this girl missed her calling! SHE should have been a standup comic! I laugh literally until my head and tummy and jaw are hurting!  After our visit, it was back to my mother-in-laws with family to have lunch and enjoy a reflective moment outside before heading home.

But…through all the fun, I not only was sick, (just a bunch of head cold stuff), but my right eye was hurting and watering so badly on Christmas Eve. Then, while visiting with Rand-girl, it just kept getting more red and I could feel it hurting more and more, … you know how it is when you’re laughing…you don’t feel pain, right?  So, it wasn’t until almost sunset as we drove home Christmas day that I finally told Rip, I needed to take my contacts out because my right eye was killing me. When I did – jab! Something felt like it had jabbed my eye and it immediately started oozing water. So, I wiped, and I gently rubbed, but I knew something was wrong because my eye at that point was throbbing.

I got in to see a doctor this morning around 9:45 and he said I had a corneal abrasion. (Of course I asked, “What’s that?”) He told me that all it is is a cut across my cornea. He asked how I did it, and I told him that I had absolutely no idea. So, that’s the reason for the patch.

But, I took it off as soon as I woke up and it was so much better. Just needed medicine and to be shut for 24 hours.

So, while I’ve been finalizing the bible study for us – it’s on Praying with Honesty – I’ve had to type with one eye and some pretty strong glasses! haha! But y’all….with PRAYER and knowing that it is God’s will for this study to be shared, then it gets done! And I can’t WAIT for you to dig deep into praying with honesty, and what that REALLY means for our life.

Here you go:  (Oh, and my apologies for the misspelling of the word “Lesson” haha! Typing with one eye was a challenge!)

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a love for all things “homey” from decorating, simplifying, remodeling, organizing and simply turning a house into a "Home Sweet Home." My passion is helping families live the life they long for in the interior of their hearts and homes. It all requires thought, planning and work that Rip and I both love to do! But if there is anything at all I can do to help you and your home life, please reach out to me. Nothing would thrill me more than to inspire YOUR heart and home!
