18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. Mark 10:18″
God is good all the time. All the time God is good.” Even Jesus declared; “No one is good but One, that is, God.” Hey; wait a minute; Jesus is God, fully God and fully man. While on earth; He always deferred to His Father, the One who sent Him to earth on our behalf, for the salvation of our souls.
Sing this song to the Lord. Go ahead! Aloud! He will be blessed, honored and glorified. “God is so good! God is so good! God is so good! He’s so good to me.” Sing the second verse. “He answers prayer. He answers prayer. He answers prayer. He’s so good to me.” Sing the third verse. “I love Him so. I love Him so. I love Him so. He’s so good to me!”
Here’s another more recent worship song. If you know it; sing it to the Lord.
“Your a good, good Father. It’s who You are. It’s who You are. And I’m loved by You. It’s who I am. It’s who I am. It who I am.” This good Father calls you LOVED!
Another saying….”Life is hard but God is good.” If you’ve never had another blessing but the gift of eternal life in Christ; God is good. However; I would wager, you’ve had plenty of goodness from the hand of the One who is good.
Years ago, I woke up to the verse; “You will live to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” I had been praying for someone to follow Christ by taking his family to church. Intuitively, I knew for whom the verse was given. About a month ago, I found out he and his family are in church consistently. Hallelujah! God is good!
God is good because that’s who He is. He’s good in the waiting. He’s good in the length of the waiting. Like David, you begin to ask; “How long oh Lord?”…If you must wait upon the Lord for one year, five years, ten or twenty years; He’s still good. All the time. You get to wait with the Lord, in the Lord, and on the Lord. He is with you! He is teaching you and training you in righteousness. That’s who our God is. GOOD! All the time!
Lord Jesus, I’m blown away by Your goodness. I have lived to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I trust You to accomplish what concerns me. You’ve been faithful to me. Your mercies are new every single morning and Your faithfulness is greater than all my sin. Forgive me for the sin of not trusting You totally and completely! You are for me and not against me. No One is good but You. I love You Lord. In Jesus Name. Amen
