“For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from ehaven, if indeed, having been blothed, we shall not be found naked.” 2 Corinthians 5:2-3
Fox News’ Bill O’Riley’s show; always closes with words declaring his name brand clothing. Some people will only wear “name brand” clothing. They want to be known by the brand of clothes they don. Truthfully, clothes do make a statement.
When God looks upon you; He looks at you clothed by His Holy Spirit. He has given you His Spirit as a guarantee.
God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are three in One. The Holy Trinity accomplishes everything together; in unity. God says it; Jesus intercedes and the Holy Spirit brings the conviction and the comfort. Each One works together for One purpose and One plan; “God’s will to be done on earth as it is done in heaven.”
Jesus Christ died so that you can have eternal life but also abundant life. Abundant life can only come through Christ; in this world filled with sin and darkness. We are clothed by God’s Spirit in order that Holy God; who cannot look upon sin, can communicate with us. He longs to empower us to give out His gospel message.
We do not want to be found naked before the Lord. When you invited Jesus into your heart, His Holy Spirit came to tabernacle with you, covering your sin and shame.
Daily, we should ask that He create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us. We pray to Jesus by His blood and through the power of His Holy Spirit. He lives to make intercession to the Father on our behalf.
Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30
If you want to make a “Christian” statement; you must be clothed by God’s Holy Spirit. Daily; ask this Third Person of the Trinity, who dwells inside of you, to empower you to do God’s bidding. There is one indwelling. He will never leave you nor forsake. However; there should be daily infilling. Why? Because we need power to witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Because we sin and fall short of the glory of God. He longs to renew a steadfast spirit within you.
When we confess our sin; He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Ask Him to create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you. Then watch to see what He will do.
Go on; make a statement! Ask the Lord Jesus to clothe you with power from on high.
Prayer:
Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me. Forgive me of my sin. It is ever before me. I am beseeching You by Your mercies; to fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I long for my life’s goal to be: “To see others come to Christ and grow into a deeper walk; a deeper relationship with Him.” Spirit of the Living God, fall fresh on me. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen
