Us.
For Rip and me, that two letter word is more than the trending use of it that we see in TV programs or hear in songs. For Rip and me, that two letter word holds more weight, more meaning, more value and more truth than any word that we could possibly use in giving God praise for what HE has done and keeps on doing in us.
After the weekend Rip and I have had together, we just had to end this Sunday night “celebrating our us.” Before you finish reading this blog, go take your man in your arms and hug him. If you’re a he reading this, go grab your wife and plant one on her!
Tell him how much you admire the man that he is. He needs to know you believe in him. He needs to know you support him and that you pray God’s dreams for his life. He needs to know that he is not at the bottom of your priorities. Yes, Rip and I know life has challenges, setbacks, hardships, trials, tests, … We get that. We aren’t living in a bubble that keeps all “realities” at bay. No, we are an us who lives in the day to day life of undesirable circumstances and on the mountain tops of some of life’s greatest thrills!
We love our us, and our us has seen it all, y’all.
But here’s the Best Part of our us that I can share —
Jesus.
He is not only the Best Part of us, but He is the whole of us.
And we don’t want us any other way.
So now you know who the “us” is we’re truly celebrating. Because with Him, it’s a celebration worth having!!
