Being the Woman Your Man Needs – What a Complement!

“…humility prepares you for honors,” Proverbs 29:23.

Not only is a prideful spirit quite the stench in any relationship, being prideful can place a huge destructive cancer in your relationship with your man. Why? Because pride hinders humility. And hindered humility gets in the way of helping. And as his woman, you’ve been designed to help. But not just in “getting it done” kind of help, but in all humility helping him in such a way that he is esteemed and strengthened and supported as a man.  We see this in Genesis – “Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper as his complement.” Genesis 2:18

Be Inspired: God created you to “complement” your man? Wow! Now that puts a whole fresh perspective on it for us that is so exciting and a huge compliment from God! The original Hebrew word for helper is “Ezer,” and it can be understood to mean this for us as his woman:  she will honor him for who he is. As a person. As a man. We get to be his “companion”.  When you practice this kind of humility and denial of self in your relationship with him, then “humility prepares you for honors.” That simply means, in response to your humility in complementing him, he will honor you for who you are.  As a person. As a woman. And as His.
