A Promised Son

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given: And the government will be upon His shoulder.  And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  Isaiah 9:6

Bible prophets are the only prophets to have their prophecies fulfilled, one hundred percent of the time. Right smack in the middle of Isaiah 9 is such a prophecy.  It’s the greatest one to ever bless man kind.

Isaiah precedes this best prophecy ever, with words of encouragement.  I find this most unusual; because it is a rare thing, for prophets to have the gift of encouragement, mixed in with their prophetic gift.

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined.” Isaiah 9:2

We were stumbling around in the darkness and living in the land of shadowy death, until the Light of the World stepped out into darkness.  He opened our blinded eyes to see His beauty.

A Child was born. A Son is given.  Our Jesus!  If by chance you know this doxology, sing this short, powerful worship song.  You say, “Libby,  I can’t sing.”  Go ahead.  Only God is listening and He will love it!   “Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Praise Him all creatures here below.  Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts.  Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen!

Say aloud to your Savior, “You are more than Wonderful, to me. You are my Counselor, You are indeed the One and only Mighty God! You are the Everlasting Father.  You are the best Father on earth and in heaven. You are perfect, spotless and without sin.  I can seek Your face and know Your heart.  You are my Prince of Peace. You bring peace into my troubled world.  You alone can give me peace that passes all understanding.

Those who believed in God before Jesus came into this world; looked forward with faith, for the birth of this Child.   All those who came after; have seen this greatest prophecy ever, fulfilled.

“From that time forward, even forever, the zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”  He has!  He did!  Christ was born!  He lived and died and was resurrected.  He now sits at the right hand of the Father and ever lives to make intercession for us!

Oh friend, sing the doxology one more time.  “Praise God from whom all blessings flow.  Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts.  Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  Amen!

Prayer in Motion:

Oh Promised Son, Your love is amazing.  Steady and unchanging!  Always flows over me.  How can I say thanks?  I want to praise You in the morning,  praise You in the evening and praise You at the noon time too.  I am overwhelmed by every prophecy that has been fulfilled regarding Your birth, Your life, as well as Your death and resurrection.  You are the Promise Keeper of all promise keepers.  I trust You for my salvation; so Son of God, may I trust in You with every detail of my life.   In Jesus Name.  Amen
