Presented Alive

“Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive.” Acts 9:41

Dorcas was dead! Many people were mourning over Joppa’s great loss. This disciple of Jesus had been full of good works and charitable deeds. The Bible says  she became sick and died.

Upon Peter’s arrival; he sent the mourners out of the room where Dorcas’ body lay.  Then Peter knelt down and prayed to the One who could breathe life back into Dorcas.  He only said two words; “Tabitha, arise.”  She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

The manifestation of healing and resurrection was an outward display of an inward change. This woman’s lifeless body was now fully restored to her. This seller of purple was transformed from death to life!

Peter took her outside and presented her alive.

How did he do that?  It was through the resurrection power and strength of Jesus Christ.  Our Lord is fully able to perform exceedingly and abundantly beyond what we could ask or think or imagine.

It seems that miraculous acts of healing take place more often in other countries.  I want to submit a few soul searching questions for you to ponder.   Do the Christians in other parts of the world believe more strongly?  Do Americans depend more upon medicine?  I think the answer to both questions is yes.

Can you imagine what it was like on the day of Jesus’ resurrection?  Oh my goodness, hundreds of people had watched Him beaten beyond recognition and then nailed to a cross.  They watched the Roman soldier pierce His side.  He was fully dead when He was taken down off that cross and wrapped in grave clothes.

To see Jesus Christ standing before your very eyes must have been quite breath taking.  He appeared to a few hundred people; who gazed at his healed nail pierced hands and feet.  Hallelujah!

One day Christians who are asleep in their graves will be resurrected and those of us who are alive and well, will be caught up together to meet Him in the air. We will be presented alive before all the saints who’ve gone on before us.

Lord Jesus, thank You for all these amazing truths from Your Word.  I am eternally thankful You are risen.  You are risen indeed.  Glory to God in the highest!  In Jesus Name.  Amen
